External Wall Insulation 2
> Features & Benefits
• Insulation with low thermal conductivity allow for thinner
insulation boards to be used or higher U-values to be
• Reduces space heating demand
• High impact resistance
• High compressive strength
• The system can be finished in a variety of dry dashing
• System requires minimum maintenance
Typical System Build Up
> System 2 Applications
• Primarily used in the refurbishment of existing dwellings/structures
• System 2 can be applied over solid masonry, concrete panels, no fines concrete and masonry with cavity
> Enhanced Life Expectancy
The systems life expectancy it can be extended to 60 years provided a planned inspection, maintenance programme is introduced and certain system components are used in accordance with section 12 and 13 of Enewall’s BBA Agrement certificate (13/4973).
> Design Considerations
Before your walls can be insulated, any problems with penetrating or rising damp must be resolved. Insulation should not be used to cover, hide or isolate damp as this could lead to serious problems in the future.
Before/After the installation of an Enewall system, visual inspections of architectural details designed to shed water should be made, to confirm that they are performing correctly. This is to ensure water is not leaking from external downpipes or gutters, such leakage could have a detrimental effect on the system.
> Fire Performance
Fire barriers are required between all compartments in all buildings of differing occupancy and to prevent the spread of fire in multi-storey single occupancy buildings.
Continuous horizontal firebreaks are required on every building above three storeys; barriers should be formed after the 2nd storey / beginning of 3rd storey, and every storey thereafter.
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland any system comprising of Grey EPS,PIR and Phenolic may be use up to 18m and within any distance from a boundary. In Scotland any system comprising of Grey EPS, PIR and Phenolic may be used up to 18m however it must not be used within 1m of the boundary.
> Planning Stage
Enewall’s architects and technical advisors are available to give advice at the planning stage ensuring the correct system is specified, U-value and condensations risk analysis can be prepared on request.
Detailed specifications and cad drawings can be prepared for individual projects.
> On Site Support
Sit visits, on site demonstrations and training can be arranged on request.
